Otherwise it was a rather quiet day for the senior Bowl DB's as the respective Uniwill N340S2 Modem sevens pretty much handled the run, while the opposing offenses contented themselves throwing hitch Uniwill N340S2 Modem short hook passes mush of the afternoon.
Tuskeggee CB Drayton Florence, though, did get tested repeatedly and held up reasonably well. Florence, though, still needs to break on the ball a little more cleanly.
Washington State CB Marcus Trufant played a little soft on a couple Uniwill N340S2 Modem early short routes - he also missed the tackle on two such patterns - but got more aggressive as the game wore on. Nebraska CB also reacted quickly to break up a pair of passes.

Eugene Wilson of Illinois also closed nicely on the Uniwill N340S2 Modem pass thrown in his area. Unfortuantely, Oklahoma CB Andre Uniwill N340S2 Modem, a player scouts wanted to see tested in the game never was, though, he did cover a punt with considerable enthusiasm. Southern Cailfornia QB Carson Palmer came to Mobile as the consensus 1 pick overall at the draft and did nothing but reconfirm that status throughout the Senior Bowl week practices, as well as in the actual game itself.
Palmer has excellent mechanics in the pocket; he sets up very quickly, stands tall in the pocket and has a nice high release which makes his passes easy for his receivers to pick up Palmer also has a quick, compact delivery and throws darts with a nice, tight spiral. Palmer also featured the arm strength to get the ball downfield with authority when throwing off his back, although there was something of a dropoff in his accuracy when Palmer was thrown off his rythym.
And while no gazelle, Palmer Uniwill N340S2 Modem both enough quickness to escape trouble in the pocket and the speed to run away from it. Palmer, though, doesn't throw that well on the run and lacks the natural agility and athleticism to be very creative once he leaves the pocket. They left, though, just hoping to hold off Kyle Boller of California for that 3 slot when the pre-draft process moves on to the Indianapolis Combines and on-campus workouts. Like Palmer, Simms showed pretty good mechanics in the pocket; he sets up well Uniwill N340S2 Modem gets rid of the ball with authority, although Uniwill N340S2 Modem often throws with something of an awkward sideram delivery.
And like Palmer, Simms throws darts. Indeed, Simms' problem is less how he throws the ball than where it goes.
Uniwill N340S2 Modem Almost every pass Simms threw on Saturday was to a receiver who was covered, often someone who was double Uniwill N340S2 Modem triple teamed. And that was a microcosm of Simms II the QB as far too often he appears to lock onto a receiver and trust his arm strength to get it there; against second-tier competition it works; against top-flight opponents its playing with fire.

Meanwhile, Ragone, who spent most of his career at Louisville working out of a shotgun, struggled with some of the basic fundamentals of dropping into the pocket. And while he isRagone tends to crouch in the pocket; he also holds the ball very low, making it harder for him to see the field. As well, Ragone's delivery is a little deliberate. Ragone, though, like both Palmer and Simms, showed a strong arm and a nice touch on short and intermediate routes; he also can run like a RB, or at least like a FB or TE.
For his part, many scouts rated Boller as the player who did the most for himself at the Senior Bowl practices; unfortunately, he didn't get that many snaps in Saturday's game. When he did play, Boller was very solid, showing a very strong arm, along with excellent pocket mechanics, though his release may be a Uniwill N340S2 Modem slow. It was a good news, bad news story for the Senior Bowl's other two QBs: The good news was Wallace. Heading to the Senior Bowl, the thinking was that the Wallace might be too Uniwill N340S2 Modem to play QB at the next level and that he might have to find another position like WR; indeed, Wallace did take some snaps at practice at receiver, but showed enough arm strength to remain, at least for now, a viable mid- round QB prospect.
In fact, in limited snaps in Saturday's game, Wallace showed good pocket skills and threw the ball with authority, although he only appears accurate up to 15 yards or so downfield. And the athletic Wallace moved well and threw the ball with authority on the run. The bad news, meanwhile, was that Kingsbury was not able on Saturday to dispel the perception that he lacks the arm strength for the next level as he threw several ducks downfield; at short range, though, Kingsbury threw an accurate, catchable ball.
Johnson's draft status may actually have slipping in the weeks prior to the Senior Bowl; Johnson also wasn't helped when he was forced sit out a couple of days of practice in Mobile because of dehydration. Johnson, though, likely was able to open Uniwill N340S2 Modem eyes and re-establish himself as perhaps this year's only RB with a solid first-round grade with an outstanding performance on Saturday.
The doubts surrounding Johnson heading into Mobile were largely that he was a pure, north-south runner without much elusiveness or agility. Johnson does tend to run a bit high, but he showed unexpected patience, vision and instincts as time and Uniwill N340S2 Modem he was able to cut back upfield for impressive gains; Johnson was even able to dance away from a couple Uniwill N340S2 Modem would-be tacklers on occasion in his own backfield.
And like the Titans' Eddie George, another tallish former Big 10 RB, Johnson has that ability to fall forward for an extra yard or two on just about every carry as Uniwill N340S2 Modem is tackled. Fargas, meanwhile, came to Mobile looking to prove to scouts that he was more than just a fast Uniwill N340S2 Modem playing football; and he did just that.
Like Johnson, Fargas spent much of Saturday afternoon dancing into Uniwill N340S2 Modem out of multiple cuts as he was consistently able to find the seam at speed and then turn on an extra gear as he blew by would-be tacklers upfield. And while he looks a little slender for a feature RB, Fargas wasn't leery about lowering his pads and moved the pile with some authority, Fargas also wasn't shy about throwing a shoulder into a defensive lineman or LB to help out with the blocking.
With Johnson and Uniwill N340S2 Modem getting most of the carries on their respective teams, there weren't many touches for the remaining backs. LSU's Dominick Davis, though, did have a nice catch swinging out of the backfield which he turned into a decent gain after making a quick move to avoid the initial tackler; Davis also was solid returning kickoffs.
